Rievaulx Abbey
A few photographs taken from my recent trip to Rievaulx Abbey, near Helmsley.
I’m not that happy with many that I took, they all seem a bit boring or out of focus, especially the action shots of the birds.
Below is a selection of the “better” photographs.
Wide open aperture and fast shutter (and a high iso if your camera’s up to it) then rattle the shots off in high speed shooting mode. It’s worth practicing panning too, a good smooth pan technique really helps action shots.
Aye!
I’ve been reading “Understanding Exposure” and I think I’d get much better results because of it.
For the picture of the owl landing I tried to pre-focus on the stand because I didn’t think auto-focus would take the picture quick enough.
